Chapter 7
7.2.3
Install the batteries
The Bluetooth puller is supplied with four NiMH AA rechargeable batteries
(
≥ 2300 mAh) batteries. These batteries must be installed in the battery
compartment and charged with the power adapter.
The procedure is as follows:
Remove the two screws of the battery compartment (see figure 7.2/[3]) with
a 3 mm Allen key.
Remove the cover of the battery compartment.
Insert the batteries while noticing the polarity instructions as displayed in
the compartment.
Use the Allen key to screw the cover on the battery compartment. Always
check the presence and the position of the silicon gasket in the
compartment. It prevents ingression of liquids that may reach the batteries.
Charge the batteries as described in § 7.2.4.
The puller charges the batteries with a continuous current of 220mA. Depleted
batteries will be fully charged in 16-20 hours. This depends on the capacity of
the batteries. They will obtain their maximum capacity after a few
charge/discharge cycles. If the power adapter is connected and has fully
charged batteries inside the puller, then the battery LED
will show “fully
charged” after 2 hours. If the battery LED is still blinking when the power
adapter is connected for a longer period then required, then the batteries
should be replaced with a new set.
The Bluetooth puller motor can run approximately 4 hours continuously with
fully charged batteries. For optimal use, please avoid unnecessary Bluetooth
connections. The fully charged batteries have enough power for several weeks
to establish a wireless connection with the computer automatically. Maximum
discharge will take place when the puller has a Bluetooth connection,
independent of the puller speed. The battery capacity will decrease slowly
during use.
Remove the batteries when the puller is not used for a longer period (month)
and the power adapter is not connected. Batteries may be damaged or their
useful life reduced by being discharged completely.
