Biofeedback
10.1 Introduction
In the management of, for exmple stress incontinence, biofeedback training
can be used for
training of the patient’s pelvic floor muscles or anal sphincter.
During the training, one or more challenges can be presented to the patient;
for example, the patient must squeeze the pelvic floor until a certain level.
Feedback to the patient is generated by displaying the measured signal (i.e.,
EMG, pressure, etc.) by a moving object. For example, a fish can be displayed
in a sea world. When the fish is catching air bubbles, the patient is doing good.

Biofeedback can react on different channels:
•
Flow
•
Pressure
•
EMG
Different probes are available to measure different signals.
