Defrosting
Your refrigerator features an automatic off cycle defrost and should remain frost free as part
of normal operation. However, ice may occur in times of high humidity, if the door has been
opened frequently or left open for a long time, if it is overstocked or the ambient temperature
is high or low.
IT IS ESSENTIAL THAT THE CONTENTS OF THE FRIDGE SHOULD BE REMOVED AND
STORED AND MONITORED AT THE CORRECT TEMPERATURE BEFORE ATTEMPTING
DEFROSTING
For a short defrost you should:
•
Press the button for 3 seconds which will activate the defrost program. This will
terminate automatically when the pre-programmed defrost temperature has been
reached.
For a thorough defrost you should:
•
Remove all the contents and unplug or disconnect the fridge from the electricity supply
•
Leave the unit unplugged with the door open at room temperature until all the ice is
melted
•
Collect water in tray or with towel
•
Do not use a sharp implement to remove any ice, as this will damage the inside of the
fridge
•
Do not use mechanical, electric or chemical means to speed up the defrosting process
•
Dry thoroughly and remove any surplus water before returning to use
•
Plug in and leave cooling and wait for the temperature to return to the set point and the
unit to maintain the correct temperature before re-stocking the fridge
WARNING
Do not use mechanical or other means to accelerate the defrosting process

As with all refrigerators, your
Labcold
sparkfree fridge, although designed to provide you with
many years of fault free service, will perform better if attention is paid to the loading and that
it is regularly cleaned and defrosted.
Loading
In order to ensure even temperature distribution throughout your fridge it is important that:
•
The shelves are not over fi lled
•
The contents are not packed too closely together
•
The maximum loading of the shelves is 10kg, do not overload
•
The contents do not touch the wall or the bottom of the fridge
•
After restocking the fridge, check the temperature 10 minutes later to ensure that the
refrigerator is cooling down, running satisfactorily and is not over fi lled.
Cleaning
It is recommended that your refrigerator is cleaned on a regular basis.
Before cleaning it is essential that you unplug the fridge from the electricity
supply, transfer the contents where they can be stored and monitored at the correct
temperatures, and defrost it fully.
When cleaning you should:
•
Not use strong detergents or bleach.
•
Wipe the inside of the fridge in the same solution and dry with a soft cloth.
•
Wipe the door seal with a damp cloth.
•
Gently remove the dust on the outside and back of the fridge. Take care not to damage
the pipes.
WARNING! If the power supply cord is damaged, it MUST be replaced by the
manufacturer, its service agent or similarly qualifi ed persons in order to avoid a hazard
