GAS CONNECTION
La Plancha is fitted at the back of the appliance in factory. List of spare parts is available at the end of this booklet.
To ensure a proper set up, avoid twisting or curving the rubber gas tube. Do not obstruct the flow of combustion for any
reason.
Changing gas cylinders must never be undertaken in the presence of a naked flame.
The installation must be conform to local codes or, in the absence of local codes, with either the National Fuel Gas Code
(ANSI Z223.1/NFPA 54) Natural Gas or Propane Installation Code (CSA B149.1) or Propane Storage and Handling Code
(B149.2) as applicable.
a) For Propane Gas
The regulator and the hose that are included with La Plancha must be used.
The hose must be visible on its whole length (From the cylinder to the appliance) it must also be easy to reach.
The tightness of all connections must be checked prior to use. Apply a soapy water solution to all connections and check
for leaks before attempting to light the grill. (Bubbles indicate a leak). If a leak is found, turn tank valve off and tighten the
connections and check again.
DANGER:
- Never check tightness with a flame.
- Do not store a spare gas cylinder underneath or near this appliance.
- Never fill the cylinder beyond 80% full.
- A fire causing death or serious injury may occur if these precautions are not respected.
b) FOR NATURAL GAS
For Natural gas, it is strictly forbidden to use a Propane gas connector.
The orifices for natural gas must be ordered from our retailer or directly from our after sales department.
The hose must be visible on its whole length (From the wall valve to the appliance), and easy to reach.
The tightness of all connections must be checked prior to use. Apply a soapy water solution to all connections and check
for leaks before attempting to light the grill. (Bubbles indicate a leak). If a leak is found, turn wall valve off and tighten the
connections and check again.
The natural gas connection must be setup by a professional.

NEVER CHECK FOR A LEAK WITH A FLAME.

BEFORE USE
Read instructions before lighting!
If ignition does not occur within 5
seconds, turn the burner control
knob off, wait 5 minutes, then
repeat the lighting procedure.

Move the grill to an open area.

The cover / lid must be open/removed before lighting. Do not cover La Plancha during cooking. For steam cooking the
stainless steel cooking dome must be used.

Set the slope of the grill according to the type of cooking, with the adjustable feet that are at the back of the appliance.

Inspect the gas hose before each use. Check the tightness of the connection, if you notice a leakage, turn off the gas inlet.

If the hose shows marks of abrasion or wear, or if the hose is cut, it must be replaced prior to use.

Check that the hose cannot be in contact with any part of La Plancha that can become warm.

If you are using a trolley be sure that La Plancha is centered on the trolley. The trolley must have a non combustible surface.

Before the first use, it is recommended to run La Plancha empty during 15 minutes. A slight smell may be noticed for a while.

Before each use, preheat La Plancha during 10 minutes (Turn knobs to the bigger flame position)

The grease tray must be handled when cold.
