1.

Before cleaning, shut off all gas supply valves and
disconnect gas supply.

2.

Periodically give the torch assembly a general
cleaning using pressurized air, a soft brush or dry rag.

WARNING

Do not use a pressure washer, water, or liquid cleaning
solution on torch components.  Use of a pressure
washer, water, or liquid cleaning solution on the
components can cause severe personal injur y or
property damage due to water and/or liquids:

* Causing corrosion which can result in gas leaks and

fire or explosion from the leak.

Clean the components of the torch with pressurized air,
a dry brush or a dry cloth.

Cleaning Instructions

WARNING

Fire, Burn, and Explosion Hazard

This torch contains components used in the gas management system.

Such components may become inoperative or fail due to dust, dirt, wear and aging.

Periodic cleaning and inspection as well as proper maintenance are essential to avoid serious injury or property
damage.

1.

The area surrounding the torch shall be kept clear
and free from combustible materials, gasoline, and
other flammable vapors and liquids.

2.

Check the gas hose regularly for cuts, deterioration,
or other defects. If defects are found, replace the
hose immediatley, do not attempt repair.

3.

Regulators must be periodically inspected to make
sure the regulator vents are not blocked.  Debris,
insects, insect nests, snow, or ice on a regulator can
block vents and cause excess pressure at the torch.

4.

Regulators can wear out and function improperly.
Have your gas supplier check the date codes on all
regulators installed and check delivery pressures to
the torch to make sure that the regulator is reliable.

5.

Review torch labels at the time of maintenance for
legibility.  Make sure none are cut, torn, or otherwise
damaged.  Any damaged labels must be replaced
immediately by contacting L.B.White. Labels are
avaialble at no cost.

Maintenance Instructions

1.

Slowly open the propane gas supply container valve.

2.

Apply a flame or spark at the outlet of the burner
head while slowly opening the torch’s manual valve.
Ignition will occur.

3.

Fully open the torch’s manual valve.

WARNING

Fire or Explosion Hazard.

Can Cause Property Damage, Severe Injury or Death.

To avoid dangerous accumulation of fuel gas, ensure
the torch’s manual valve is closed before opening the
main gas supply.

1.

Close the main fuel supply valve.

2.

Allow the heater to burn off any fuel gas remaining in
the gas supply line.

3.

Close the manual main burner valve on the torch.
