Remote Control Operations
Rel. 2.6
8-17
8-5.2.46 AT+T
Return the Terminal Privilege Settings to the DTE as a verbose ASCII string framed by carriage return
and line feed characters (as defined by S3 and S4) regardless of the S14 register Q and V settings.
8-5.2.47 AT+U
UPV, User Privileges, is used by OMNI™ and not supported by the STE. The STE always returns the
0/OK result code and takes no further action.
8-5.2.48 AT+Z
Return the received Secure Dial characters to the DTE as a verbose ASCII string. If there are any Secure
Dial characters buffered, the entire buffer is returned (a minimum of 1, and a maximum of 64 characters
per request). The Secure Dial character buffer is cleared when the response is sent. If there are no
Secure Dial characters buffered, the error result code is returned.
8-5.2.49 S-Register Summary
The STE has several S-registers that allow a DTE to view the settings and status of the terminal. This
section describes and summarizes the set of STE S-registers. The S-registers are 8 bits wide and are
numbered 0 to 7, right to left. Bit 0 is the Least Significant Bit (LSB) and Bit 7 is the Most Significant Bit
(MSB).
8-5.2.50 S-Register Description
The S-Registers (S0 thru S35) are described in
Table 8-6. S-Register Summary
Register Description
S0
a. S0 specifies the number of rings after which the terminal will auto answer an incoming
call and then initiate secure data unless the STE is configured as a STE-R, which will
initiate the secure mode (either voice or data) as specified in register S33.
b. If S0 is set to 0, auto answer is disabled.
c. The default value for S0 is 0 unless Auto_Answer is enabled in local mode. In that case,
the number of rings set in local mode is the default value.
d. S0 has a valid range of 0 to 255.
S1
a. S1 holds the number of rings that have occurred for the incoming call.
b. The default value for S1 is 0.
c. The terminal increments S1 every time it detects an incoming ring cycle (or simulates an
incoming ring cycle from a ring command on a digital network), and sets S1 to 0
whenever 8 seconds has passed without a ring condition being present or when a call
termination is received on a digital network.
d. The DTE can only read this register. If the DTE attempts to write to S1, send the error
result code to the DTE and leave the register unchanged.
S2
a. S2 holds the ASCII value of the character used as an escape from the Asynchronous
Data or Voice On-line State back to the Command State without disconnecting the call.
b. The default value for S2 is 43 (+).
c. S2 has a valid range of 0 to 255. If an attempt is made to set the register to a value
outside this range, send the error result code to the DTE and leave the register
unchanged. Setting S2 to a value greater than 127 disables escape code processing.
S3
a. S3 holds the ASCII value of the line termination character used to end a command line
and for formatting result codes.
b. The default value for S3 is 13 (^M, carriage return).
c. S3 has a valid range of 0 to 127. If an attempt is made to set the register to a value
outside this range, send the error result code to the DTE and leave the register
unchanged.
NOTE
Since spaces are ignored in a command line, the value 20 should not be used.
