Inspect Parts and Get Tools
Before you begin, follow these steps to ensure you have
everything needed to complete the installation.
1.
Unpack the box and ensure it contains everything
shown in Figure 1 and on the Kitpack Contents List.
Save the packaging for future use.

Note:
This manual refers to the TracNet Hub+ as the BDU
(Below Deck Unit).

Carefully examine all of the supplied parts to ensure
nothing was damaged in shipment.
3.
Gather the following tools and materials:
• Flat-head and Phillips-head screwdrivers
• Electric drill and 5/16" (8 mm) bit
• 1.5" (38 mm) hole saw
• Light hammer and center punch
• Adhesive tape
• 7/16" socket on a 4" extension (for mounting bolts)
and 1/2" socket or wrench (for mounting nuts)
• Self-vulcanizing tape or equivalent
• Heat gun (for heat shrink)
• Eye protection
• Shop towels
• Voltmeter
• Utility knife
• Flush cutters
• Wire stripper/terminal crimper
• File
• Isolation transformer, if required (see
• Cable termination tools, if necessary (see
• NMEA 0183 or NMEA 2000 talker and interface

• Laptop PC or Apple

or Android

smartphone/
tablet with the latest H-series antenna software
downloaded from the KVH Partner Portal
(www.kvh.com/partners), or a smartphone/tablet
with the KVH Connect app installed and loaded with
the latest antenna software
IMPORTANT!
Always lift the antenna by the baseplate and never by
the radome or any portion of the internal antenna
assembly.
IMPORTANT!
Be sure to download the
AC-BDU
version of software,
filename: Hxx_AC-BDU-<version no.>.bin.
