Test the System
Test the System
1. Ensure the antenna has a clear, unobstructed view of
the sky.
2. At the web interface, go to the Terminal Home page
and select the
VSAT Only network mode from the
Network Selection drop-down menu.
3. Verify that the antenna is tracking the VSAT satellite
and the system is online.

4. Make sure the vessel’s heading is displayed in the
Real-time Vessel & Satellite Display. If not, check the
wiring to the NMEA device.
5. Enter the following address in a new web browser tab
or window:
http://test.minivsat.net . Verify that a
Welcome screen appears, indicating good
communications between the antenna system and the
land-based hub.
6. If the customer activated the TracNet system for KVH
ONE
™
VSAT service, open a new browser tab and try
to access the Internet (such as google.com) over the
VSAT connection.
7. Turn on all other electronic equipment above deck
within the proximity of the antenna, if possible. Verify
that both the KVH system and the electronic
equipment continues to operate without any
degradation in performance.
8. If the customer activated the TracNet system for KVH
global cellular service, select the Cell tab. If there is
cellular service in your area, select the
Cell Only
network mode. Then open a new browser tab and try
to access the Internet (such as google.com) over the
cellular connection.

9. If you set up the system for a shore Wi-Fi network,
select the Wi-Fi tab. If there is adequate Wi-Fi service
in your area, select the
Wi-Fi Only network mode.
Then open a new browser tab and try to access the
Internet (such as google.com) over shore Wi-Fi.

10. Return the system to Automatic network mode.
11. Fill out the Installation Checklist (provided in the
Customer Welcome Kit) and return it to KVH. Refer to
the instructions on the form.
IMPORTANT!
Submission of the Installation Checklist is required to
certify the quality of the installation.
