Operation and Use
Audible alarm:
When the receiver detects the FM signal emitted by the transmitter, the buzzer emits
a 95 dB (max) audible alarm. The audible alarm will continue to sound until 1). the
transmitter is turned off, sending an All Clear signal to the receiver, or 2). the Silence
button is pressed. The receiver volume is set by pressing the “Settings” button on
the main screen of the LCD.
Visual alarm display:
The LCD is touch screen display and interface.
- Man Overboard!
- ID of beacon and ship
- Condition of beacon battery
- Location of ship at time of alarm
- Elapsed time since alarm sounded
Each receiver functions as follows:
- When a transmitter from own ship is activated, an alarm signal (continuous
warble) is sounded. The ship type, hull number, and the serial number of the
transmitter are displayed on the LCD along with the elapsed time beacon battery
status and location.
- When a transmitter from another ship is activated and within range, an alarm
signal (chirp) is sounded and the ship type and hull number as well as the serial
number of the transmitter is displayed on the LCD.
