990 APEX Service Manual

Greasing the Screw Shooters Bearings

This section details greasing Six and Eight Shooter bearings. Each shooter contains 4 bearings to

aid moving the shooter across the machine. Each shooter contains 2 hub bearing to aid in pivoting

the shooter into the pocket.
For recommended greasing schedule for all assemblies,

see “Lubrication Schedule” on page

2-23.

For more information about bearings,

see “About Flange Bearing Housings” on page

2-19

and

see

“About Ball Rail Bearings” on page

2-19.

Recommended Tools

Process to Grease Shooter Bearings

Use an extender to reach tight areas.

Perform

Lockout/ Tagout.

Find the linear and hub bearings identified in

Figure

2- 32 on page

2-40.

Identify zerk fittings on the bearings.

Apply approximatively 1 Gram (one pump from grease gun) of EP-2 grease.

After lubrication is completed, clean up excess grease.

Reverse

Lockout/Tagout.
