- First time over : when the crop has a high moisture content, the speed is
approximately 7-8 km/hr (4 1/2 - 5 mph)
- Second time over : the speed can reach 10-12 km/hr (6 1/2 - 7 mph) according to
the moisture content.
It is difficult to give accurate recommendations concerning operating speeds as these
must be chosen in accordance with the crop being worked. However, as a general rule,
if the crop is dry, rotor speed
(rotational frequency) should be reduced. When the
crop is very long, heavy and wet, the forward speed should be reduced. In difficult
conditions such as these, it is generally adviseable to lower the forward speed and
increase the PTO speed
(rotational frequency).
TRANSPORT POSITION
1. GF 5000 M
- Disconnect the tractor PTO shaft.
- Lower the machine to the ground.
- Release lock (X) (photo 17) and fold
back the outer rotors until the locks
automatically reengage in the trans-
port position.
- Lift the machine and lock the pivoting
frame (B) by lifting lock (V) (photo
24).
Never engage the PTO shaft when the machine is in the transport position.
NOTE : Before moving the GF 5000 M when having been parked in the transport
position, unlock the outer wheels to allow them to pivot.
2. GF 5000 T
- Disconnect the tractor PTO shaft.
- In order to fold the machine correctly,
position the rotors horizontally using
crank handle (M) (photo 22).
- Release locks (X) (photo 17) and fold
back outer rotors until the locks
automatically reengage in transport
position.
- Lock outer rotor wheels (R) in posi-
tion holes (Y or Z, photo 21) so that
the levers (F) point forwards (looking
in the direction of travel) (photo
25). The central wheel lever (F)
should point towards the rear (looking
in the direction of travel) (photo
25).
