Installing the chuck

See Figure 12.

1.  Clean the chuck and spindle with a clean cloth. Make sure there are no foreign particles sticking 

to these surfaces. The slightest piece of dirt on these surfaces will prevent the chuck from seating 

properly. This will cause the drill to “wobble”.

2.  Screw chuck onto spindle.

3.  By hand, turn chuck counterclockwise to install.

Note

 

The force of drilling will tighten the chuck.
