6.4.3.2 Density of the fluid handled
The power input of the pump increases in proportion to the density of the fluid
handled.
CAUTION
Impermissibly high density of the fluid handled
Motor overload!
▷
Observe the information on fluid density indicated in the data sheet.
▷
Make sure the motor has sufficient power reserves.
6.4.3.3 Abrasive fluids
Do not exceed the maximum permissible solids content specified in the data sheet.
When the pump handles fluids containing abrasive substances, increased wear of the
hydraulic system and shaft seal are to be expected. In this case, reduce the commonly
recommended inspection intervals.
6.5
Measures to be taken for shutdown
DANGER
Insufficient preparation of work on the pump (set)
Risk of injury!
▷
Properly shut down the pump set.
▷
Close the shut-off elements in suction and discharge line.
▷
Drain the pump and release the pump pressure.
▷
Close any auxiliary connections.
▷
Allow the pump set to cool down to ambient temperature.
WARNING
Hot/corrosive fluid may escape
Scalding/Chemical burns!
▷
Wear appropriate protective clothing (e.g. safety gloves, safety goggles) when
venting the pump set.
▷
Protect the electric components against escaping fluid.
WARNING
Fluids posing a health hazard and/or hot fluids
Risk of personal injury!
▷
Observe all relevant laws.
▷
When draining the fluid take appropriate measures to protect persons and the
environment.
▷
Decontaminate pumps which handle fluids posing a health hazard.
