Make sure that the motor and paddle are
correctly connected.
■
Plug in at the mains and switch the
appliance on immediately, to prevent the
paddle from freezing onto the very cold
container (6).
■
Pour the prepared ice-cream mixture
through the filling opening into the
appliance whilst it is running (7).
Never switch off the appliance during use,
as the paddle could become trapped by the
increasingly cold mixture.
When the desired consistency has been
reached, switch off the appliance and pull
out the mains plug. Dependant on the
particular recipe, the quantity and the initial
temperature, this could take 20-40 minutes.
In order to avoid overtaxing the motor, the
appliance alters the direction of rotation
when the mass is too solid. Should this
happen repeatedly without interruption,
switch off the appliance.
■
Press the release key at the rear of the
motor unit and lift off the lid (1).
Remove the stirring paddle from the ice-
cream.
Use only a plastic or wooden spatula to
remove the ice-cream from the container.
This will avoid damage to the surface of the
container.
You can keep the ice cream cold in the
container for several minutes until you are
ready to serve it or, if you wish, to put it into
the deep-freeze (either to make it more solid
or to store it for later). In this case, use a
different vessel with a lid.
Cleaning
The lid and paddle may be cleaned in the
dish-washer but the container should be
washed in lukewarm (not hot) washing-up
water. The container must be thoroughly
dried before being put into the freezer
again. Do not use any sharp objects or
scouring powders.
Never dip the motor unit into water; just
wipe it with a moist cloth.
Disposal
The packaging consists entirely of
environmentally-friendly materials, which
should be passed on to the appropriate
recycling agencies.
Enquiries regarding the disposal
arrangements for disused appliances should
be addressed to your local authority.
The freezing container is normal household
rubbish and contains no toxic materials.
Important Hints
Ice cream mixtures containing a high
proportion of sugar, fat or alcohol require a
longer time to solidify and/or do not
become so stiff.
Do not use very stiff ingredients, such as
whipped cream or already frozen liquids, for
making ice-cream. Any mixture should be
liquid at the start of the process.
Alcohol should be added whilst the
appliance is running and when the mass is
already half solid.
Mixtures requiring some ingredients to be
heated and then cooled again should be
prepared the day before and stored in
refrigerator.
If you adapt your own recipes to the
maximum quantities of 1 kg or 1 litre, all the
ingredients should be adjusted
proportionally; otherwise the result will not
be consistent.
Always prepare mixtures first and then take
the container out of the deep-freeze, as the
container starts to lose its coldness
immediately.
When taking the container from the deep-
freeze, shake it well to see whether it is cold
enough. The liquid between the walls of the
container must be frozen completely solid.
Do not operate the appliance for longer than
necessary. If the mixture has not solidified
