16.5 Setting MultiBale
Checking/setting the position of the rear needle yoke

If the knotter gearbox is in idle position ( refer to page 54 ), the tube (2) of the rear needle yoke
(1) must be in the centre of the trough (3) of the needle brake (4).
Furthermore, the dimension must be X=11–18 mm , measured between the stop (5) and the
tube (2).

The upper dead point of the knotter needle is checked and set, refer to page 215 .
ü The knotter gearbox is in idle position, refer to page 54 .

Visually check whether the tube (2) is in the centre of the trough (3).
Æ If the tube (2) is not in the centre of the trough (3), the rear needle yoke has been set
correctly.

Move the needle brake (4) if the tube (2) is not in the centre of the trough (3).
„ Check dimension X.

If the dimension is X=11–18 mm , the stop (5) has been correctly set.
Æ If the dimension is not X=11–18 mm , move the needle brake (4).
Repositioning the needle brake

The knotter gearbox is in idle position, refer to page 54 .
„ Reposition the needle brake (3) in longitudinal direction in the hole pattern (4) until the tube
(1) of the rear needle yoke (6) is in the centre of the trough (5) of the needle brake (3).
