Operation
In order to use the HDMI switcher with the Foundation or Foundation 4K you will need to update the
software in your unit to the following versions (or higher). If your unit is connected to the Internet, you
can go to the Software Update page in the front panel menu and get the latest software. Otherwise
contact Krell for instructions on how you can update the software by other means.
Foundation: V1.33
Foundation 4K: V1.48
Go to the External HDMI Switch page in the front panel menu of the Foundation or Foundation 4K
and set the Enable option. This will map HDMI inputs 2-4 on the Foundation or Foundation 4K to
inputs 2-4 on the HDMI switcher. If you have a source assigned to HDMI input 1, you will need to
connect it to inputs 2-4 on the HDMI switcher and then change the HDMI input in the source setup
menu accordingly. Put the Foundation or Foundation 4K into stand-by and then turn it back on. You
don’t need to do anything else at this point. All of your source settings will remain as they are and
source selection from the remote control or home control system will continue to operate as normal.
RS-232 Control
The HDMI switcher may be operated by a computer or home control system through the RS-232
port.
