Connecting the VP-483
Always switch off the power to each device before connecting it to your
VP-483
. After connecting your
VP-483
, connect its power and then
switch on the power to each device.
To connect the
VP-483
as illustrated in the example in
Figure 2
:
1. Connect a computer graphics (or component video) source (for example, a
PC) to the PC/COMPONENT IN 15-pin HD connector.
If connecting component video, connect the 15-pin HD as follows:

You can use a breakout cable, such as the Kramer C-GM/3RVF. If you have a VGA to a
5BNC cable, use the RGB connections only.
2. Connect an unbalanced stereo audio source (for example, the audio output
from the PC) to the LEFT and RIGHT AUDIO IN RCA connectors.
3. Connect the SDI OUT 1 BNC connector to an SDI acceptor (for example, a
non-linear editor).
4. Connect the SDI OUT 2 BNC connector to another SDI acceptor (for
example, an SDI display).
5. Connect the 5V DC power adapter to the 5V DC power socket and to the
mains electricity (not shown in the illustration).
