LOCATION
Fluid Coolers require adequate space to allow unrestricted ambient airflow in to and out of the fan
section. Figure 7 gives general rules as to the location of a fluid cooling unit regarding different
situations. The distances shown in the sketches should be increased whenever possible. The unit position
relative to the prevailing winds should be considered. Note that higher than expected return fluid
temperatures will result in poor system operation if the following suggested distances are not used.
To ensure a unit performs as predicted, it should be located away from heated air exhausts, steam vents,
or corrosive airflows whether it comes from the user site or from another nearby source. A corrosive
