3.9.5.1 Top Vented Cavity Option
Alternative Installations

Figure 3.25 shows the installation of crown molding or similar
trim work that goes up to the edge of the air discharge opening.
12” (305mm) is the maximum length of the molding or trim
projection and you must maintain 1-1/2” (38mm) clearance for
the full length of crown molding/trim projection. This molding or
trim cannot decrease the minimum opening requirement.
