• There is a magnet provided in the document feeder, allowing the printer to detect the

position of the document feeder whether the document feeder is raised or lowered.

• This magnet attracts the original cover set switch provided on the printer side, thus acti-

vating the sensor. The printer will then detect the position of the document feeder.
