Select Submit .
After selecting Submit, the download of the file starts.
One of the following occurs:
– The printer reboots and a Startup Page is printed. Continue with
step 9.
– An error page is printed. This occurs if your printer’s firmware version
is later than the version that you attempted to download. You do not
need to upgrade the printer’s firmware. Skip step 9.

Inspect the Startup Page to ensure the firmware has been upgraded.
See “When to Upgrade/Upgrade Verification” on page 2-20. for upgrade
verification instructions.

If you were installing the firmware file from the Software Utilities CD-ROM,
remove the CD-ROM and store it in a safe place.
Update Procedures for Macintosh
Operating Systems

mine if your printer needs to be updated before performing any of the
procedures described in this section.
The following instructions step you through the procedures for updating the
firmware for your printer from a Macintosh. These procedures are valid for the
Operating Systems identified at the beginning of each procedure.
Updating the Printer via TCP/IP on a Macintosh using
OS 9.x
The following steps describe how to update the firmware on your KONICA
MINOLTA printer connected via TCP/IP.
See “Checking TCP/IP Connections” on page 2-28. if you experience
problems when attempting to perform this procedure.

Make sure your printer is on and connected to your network.

If the firmware file that you are downloading is on the Software Utilities
CD-ROM, insert the CD-ROM in the CD-ROM drive of your computer.

If you have not already done so, create a desktop printer using the
instructions in “OS 9 Step 2. Creating a Desktop Printer” on page 13.
