Setting to work summary

Once all the hardware units have been installed, and all the cables have been connected,
the SN90 can be powered up for the first time, and set to work.

Prerequisites

• All SN90 hardware units have been installed according to the relevant instructions.

• All system cables have been installed.

• All connections have been made.

• All operating power is available.

• All peripheral devices that shall communicate with the SN90 are available and

operational.

• All relevant personnel and tools are available.

Procedure

1

Verify that the SN90 is ready for operational use.

a

Verify that all hardware have been installed correctly.

b

Verify that all cables have been connected correctly.

Power up the SN90 for the first time.

3

Configure the SN90 for operational use.

To allow the SN90 to provide correct data, you must define and insert key
operational parameters.

a

Insert the chosen transducer installation angles in the SN90 software.

b

Insert the "own ship" parameters in the SN90 software.

c

Define the physical location of the motion reference unit (MRU).

d

Define the physical location of the global positioning system (GPS) antenna.

Set up the interfaces to peripheral devices.

To provide correct information, the SN90 needs to communicate with external
devices. All these interfaces must be set up in the SN90 software.

Test the SN90 operational functionality.

To verify that the SN90 fulfills all operational and functional requirements, specific
tests are required.

6

Create a backup with the SN90 configuration and software installation.

Once all SN90 configuration and testing have been finalized, it is good practice to
back up the configuration data and software installation.

7

Fill in and sign the installation approval document, and return it to Simrad.
