Configuring an Ethernet connection
The DATSS Operator Panel has been set up at the factory to connect to your DATSS
Processor Unit via Ethernet. However, if you are supplying your own computer,
you will need to set your computer’s Ethernet Port to a static IP address so that it
can communicate with the tablet. If you are using your own computer instead of a
factory-configured Processor Unit, refer to the procedure
Setting up Ethernet on a new
PC before proceeding.
Prerequisites
• Your Sonar Head must be installed and the DATSS Software must be running. To run
the DATSS software, double-click the DATSS icon on the Processor Unit Windows
desktop.
• When you run the DATSS software, an Ethernet server should start running in the
background. You will not see the server launching. To make sure that the server is
running, open the
Task Manager
, select the
Processes
tab and look for the server in
the
Background processes
list.
• The wireless access point must be installed and powered on. Refer to the procedure
Installing the wireless access point and tablet .
Note
We do not recommend using the DATSS Operator Panel outside of the wheelhouse.
Procedure
1 Press and hold the
Power
key on the right side of the tablet to turn on the DATSS
Operator Panel.
Wait for the tablet to boot up. Observe that the Remote Control App opens
automatically.
If the app does not open automatically, tap the Remote Control App icon on the
tablet’s home screen.
2 Connect the tablet to the Ethernet server.
