1. Install the Drain
Disassemble the drain components. Remove the protective
material from the stopper and drain flange.
Apply a bead of plumbers putty or other sealant around the
underside of the drain flange according to the sealant
manufacturer’s instructions.
Insert the drain flange into the drain hole.
Assemble the drain gasket (tapered side up) and large plastic
washer to the drain flange, and partially thread the long or short
locknut to the drain flange.
NOTE:
Use the
long locknut for thin-wall
and
short locknut for
thick-wall
lavatories.
Do not tighten the locknut at this time.
Install the small plastic washer and the drain body to the drain
flange and tighten securely.
Do not use thread sealant.
Turn the drain flange so the drain lever is facing either forward
for under-the-lavatory control, or toward the desired location for
countertop control.
