5. TROUBLESHOOTING
SYMPTOM POSSIBLE CAUSE CORRECTIVE ACTION
1. Poor flush or poor rim
wash. A. Low tank water level. A. Adjust tank water level screw.

B. Undersize supply. B. Install 1/2” supply.
C. Supply stop not fully open. C. Fully open supply stop.
D. Low bowl water level. D. Adjust bowl water level.
E. Volume control not properly adjusted E. Increase flow by turning upward.
F. Clogged trapway or rim holes. F. Unclog trapway or clean rim
holes.
G. Clogged soil pipe or vents. G. Unclog soil pipe or vent pipe.
2. Excessive noise. A. Plunger needs lubrication. A. Lubricate plunger with silicone
lubricant
B. Plunger needs replacing. B. Replace plunger.
3. Valve does not shut off
and water is flowing
A. Defective plunger. A. Replace plunger.
and water is flowing
into the overflow.
NOTE: After tank is filled to
water level line, turn off
B. Water level too high in tank. B. Lower water level to below
rimfeed hose.

4. Bowl seal does not

temporarily reduced water
pressure.
B. Clogged soil pipe or vents. B. Unclog soil pipe or vent pipe.
5. Toilet flushes by itself. A. Line pressure surges activate float
valve.
A. Install pressure surge suppressor.
B. High water pressure. B. Install pressure regulator.
6. Toilet overflows. A. Toilet is clogged. A. Use plunger to unclog toilet.
