Camera/computer communications
LCD screen messages
If... Try one or more of the following
The computer does
not communicate
with the camera.
■
Turn on the camera (see page 3 ).
■
Install new batteries (see page 1 ) or charge rechargeable batteries
(see page 2 ).
■
Connect the USB cable to camera and computer port (see page 40 ).
■
Install the software (see page 39 ).
■
Disconnect the USB cable. Close all software applications. Re-install
the software (see
page 39 ).
■
Disconnect camera from the computer. Close all software applications,
reconnect camera.
Cannot transfer
pictures.
(The Add New
Hardware Wizard
cannot locate
drivers.)
■
Disconnect the USB cable. (If using camera dock or printer dock,
disconnect cable and remove camera from dock). Close all open
applications. Re-install the software (see
page 39 ).
■
Disconnect the USB cable. Close all software applications. Re-install
the software (see
page 39 ).

No images to
display

Change image storage location setting ( see page 28 ).
Memory card
requires
formatting
■
Insert a new card (see page 4 ) or format the card ( see page 30 ).
Caution: Formatting a card deletes all pictures and videos,
including protected files.
