Troubleshooting
Shutter does not release. Battery is exhausted. Replace the battery (see page 3-4 ).
D-Dial is set outside of the Drive
area. Set the D-Dial to one of the settings in the Drive
area (see
page 5-23 ).
Camera cannot get proper focus
in Single AF mode. Focus on a different subject or use Manual
focus (see
page 8-5 ).
Memory card is not inserted or
is inserted incorrectly. Insert the memory card correctly (see
page 6-2 ).
The camera is busy writing to
the memory card. Wait until the Card Busy light turns off (see
page 6-2 ).
Memory card is full. Insert a new card (see page 6-2 ) or delete
unwanted images (see page 11-11 ).
Shutter does not release.
Camera seems to be locked.
Cannot get out of custom settings.
Try resetting defaults (see page 5-13 ).
The buttons on the camera back
don’t work. Battery Save is activated. Lightly press the Shutter button.
Change the Battery Save time (see page 5-2 ).
Camera seems to contain hidden
information. There is less space
on the card than there should be. There can be hidden recycle bin
folders on large cards if you
have deleted images from your
card using WINDOWS OS 2000.
Hidden recycle bin folders can
make your card seem smaller
than it should be.
Format the card in your camera (see page 6-6 ).
Camera does not recognize the
card in the camera. The card may be
malfunctioning.
The card may not work properly
with the camera.
Try a different card.
If you have access to the Image LCD menus,
format the card in the camera (see
page 6-6 ).
