Caution!

This Drill is heavy, take care when unpacking.

Remove the Drill, together with the accessories supplied,

from the packaging. Check carefully to ensure that the Drill

is in good condition and account for all the items listed on

page 5 of this manual. Also make sure that all the parts

are complete. If any parts are found to be missing or

damaged, the Drill and its accessories should be returned

together in their original packaging to the retailer. Do not

throw the packaging away, keep it safe throughout the

guarantee period, then recycle if possible, otherwise

dispose of it by the proper means. 

Do not let children play

with empty plastic bags due to the risk of suffocation. 

The Drill comes ready assembled but it is advisable to

check mounting screws to make sure they are tight before

use.

FITTING THE CHUCK

If not already attached, screw the chuck onto the thread on

the Weldon adaptor. Loosen the grub screws in the drill

shank then insert the Weldon adaptor into the drill spindle

as shown in Fig. 2.  Tighten both Grub screws with the

Hexagon key supplied. Fig.3

FITTING THE GUARD

Position the white nylon guard

over the end of the magnet base as shown and secure in

place with the hexagon grub screws and wing nuts as

shown in Fig. 4

SECURING THE DRILL

(Fig.5)

When working horizontally or overhead, the Drill should

always be secured using a safety strop or the chain

supplied.  The safety securing chain has a spring carabine

hook to facilitate anchoring the drill either direct to the

steelwork or to a webbing strop.

Remember

- the drill must only be used on steel with a

thickness of 6mm or above.

COOLANT SUPPLY

The Drill comes complete with a gravity feed coolant bottle.

The pipe fits directly into the fitting on the side of the

Weldon Adaptor a shown in Fig. 6. The bottle has a wire

hook around the neck for attaching to the top of the slide as

shown in Fig.7 or suspended from the securing chain as

shown in Fig.7a  when the drill is being used in the

horizontal plane on steelwork as it needs to be kept above

the working position of the drill.
