performance and long service life. If correct use, safety and maintenance
procedures are observed this machine will last for many years.

always ensure that the appropriate safety equipment is worn. All possible hazards cannot be covered here,
but the most important ones have been highlighted.

Always adhere to the processes and safety
warnings, which are stated in the instruction
manual of your air tools which are used in
conjunction with your air compressor.
GENERAL OPERATING HAZARDS
l
Always ensure the mains power supply
corresponds to the power rating on the data label
on the machine.
l
Always plug the air compressor into an
appropriate outlet that is properly installed and
grounded. Check with a qualified electrician if
you are in doubt as to whether the outlet is
properly grounded.
l
Always disconnect from the electrical power
supply and ensure that all the compressed air
has been released from the receiver tank before
cleaning or carrying out user maintenance.
l
Always stay alert and watch what you are doing.
l
Always ensure the maintenance of electrical
components is carried out by a suitably qualified
person.
l
Never operate the air compressor or any air tool
when tired or under the influence of alcohol or
prescription/non-prescription drugs.
l
Never operate if any parts are missing or
damaged.
l
Never touch the metal plug pins when connecting
or removing the electrical plug.
WORKPLACE HAZARDS
l
Always keep the high pressure hose and electric
cable away from heat and sharp edges.
l
Always use a RCD (Residual Current Device) to
provide protection against electric shock.
l
Never use plastic pipe for high pressure air line
as it could shatter,resulting in serious injury.
l
Never leave inflammable objects near the
compressor.
l
Never run the air compressor in areas exposed
to water or in damp conditions.
l
Never direct jets of water or flammable liquids
over the air compressor.
l
Never use the air compressor near naked
flames.
PERSONAL PROTECTION
l
Always wear approved eye protection during
operation.
l
Always ensure that all long hair and loose clothing,
ties, scarves, jewellery, etc., are secured or
removed.
l
Never direct air at yourself, anyone else or at
animals.
SPECIFIC OPERATING HAZARDS
l
Always use recommended attachments or parts.
l
Always use the handle to move the compressor.
Do not move it by any other means.
l
Always place the air compressor on a firm and
level surface.
l
Always ensure the electric cable is not damaged
before connecting the air compressor to the
electricity supply.
l
Always switch off using the on/off lever when the
air compressor is not in use. This will avoid any
unintentional starting.
l
Always close the tap and discharge residual
pressure in the air hose before disconnecting the
air hose from the compressor.
l
Always check for damaged or loose hoses and
fittings. Whipping hoses can cause serious
injury.
l
Always be careful when handling the compressor
as components such as the delivery pipe and the
cooling fins of the cylinder head can become very
hot and remain hot for some time after use.
l
Never tamper with, or attempt to adjust the
pressure switch or the safety valve. The air
compressor must always be serviced by an
authorised agent.
l
Never use the air compressor without the air
filter attached.
l
Never use the air compressor for filling breathing
tanks, diving tanks or for pharmaceutical, food or
health applications.

POSSIBLE CAUSE
The pre-set pressure
switch is defective or
needs adjusting.
Faulty safety blow off
valve.
SOLUTION
Stop the air compressor immediately and
contact your local Kobe agent.

FAULT
The motor pump unit does
not stop when the tank
pressure reaches its
maximum working
pressure (116PSI) and the
safety valve vents air.

maximum pressure.
