As a rule of thumb, select something that is simple and easily recognizable, like 
an alphanumeric character or an alignment mark. (See 

Table 6.10 on page 6-40

that is also within the field of view does not work reliably because the wrong 
site might be identified.

7.

Define a rectangular area that encloses the chosen pattern as follows:

a.

Press and hold the left trackball button at the top left corner of the desired 
rectangle.

b.

Move the trackball toward the bottom right corner of the desired rectangle. 
A blue box appears that follows the trackball cursor as it moves.

c.

When satisfied with the desired rectangular area, release the trackball 
button.
The system processes the image information defined by the rectangle.
