Scan Recipes - Creating and Editing a Scan Recipe

The 

Height

 is the distance 

up

 from the lowest point of the roughness trace. In 

most scans, this value is compared to High Spot Count (HSC) so this height 
must be identical to the

Peak Count is the number of peak and valley pairs per unit length projecting through 
a band of width

The Mean line is the line at the mean height of all data. The band is the area bounded 
by two lines running parallel to the mean line, at an equal distance from the mean line.

Use the following procedure to set the 2D Peak Count variables.

The option exists to create three 2D Peak Count bandwidth settings. Click in up 
to three empty checkboxes to put a check (

) in them and activate their variable 

boxes. (See 

Figure 3.54

.)

The bandwidth can be set in either microns (

m) or angstroms (Å). Determine 

which units are going to be used and, if a change is necessary, click the menu 
arrow under units to display its menu.
