4.
Using a #20 Torx screwdriver, remove the two screws and the
burner base.
NOTE:
Remove one burner base at a time. Then replace after
converting. Do not disassemble entire cooktop.
5.
Apply masking tape to the end of a
⁹⁄₃₂
" (

mm) nut driver to
help hold the gas orifice spud in the nut driver while changing
it. Press nut driver down onto the gas orifice spud and
remove by turning it counterclockwise and lifting out. Set gas
orifice spud aside.
6.
Locate the Natural gas orifice spud that was originally
installed in the cooktop.
7.
Gently install the orifice spud in the appropriate burner throat
by turning clockwise to tighten.
8.
Place LP gas orifice spuds and aluminum choke in plastic
parts bag for future use and keep with package containing
literature.
9.
Replace burner base and tighten the 2 screws.
IMPORTANT:
The igniter electrode is ceramic and could
break during conversion. Be sure that the electrode comes
through the hole in the burner head smoothly while tightening
screws.
10.
Replace burner cap.
11.
Repeat steps 2-10 for the remaining burners.
12.
Open shutoff valve in the gas supply line. The valve is open
when the handle is parallel to the gas pipe.
REMEMBER:
Once you have completed converting all of the
cooktop burners, test the cooktop for leaks by brushing on
an approved noncorrosive leak-detection solution. If bubbles
appear, a leak is indicated. Correct any leaks found.
13.
Plug in cooktop or reconnect power.
Flame Height Adjustment
Smart Port Burner System
This cooktop is equipped with a Smart Port Burner System. The
Smart Port Burner System produces a small flame directly under
each grate finger and a larger flame between each grate finger.
The visual difference between the ports will be noticeable when
the burner is used or when adjustments are made to the flame
length.
To reset the valves from LP gas to Natural gas, proceed as
follows:
1.
Light 1 burner and turn to lowest setting.
NOTE:
For the left front burner, the flame will be very small.
2.
Remove the control knob.
3.
Remove grommet from glass.
4.
Use an
¹⁄₈
" (3.0 mm) flat-blade screwdriver to turn the screw
located to the right of the control knob stem until the flame is
the proper size.
5.
Replace the grommet.
6.
Replace the control knob.
7.
Test the flame by turning the control from “LO” to “HI,”
checking the flame at each setting.
