02 Salt
IMPORTANT:
ALWAYS USE DISHWASHER COMPATIBLE SALT.
All other types of salt not specifically designed for use in a dishwasher, especially table salt, will damage the
water softener. The use of salt not designed for use in a dishwasher will invalidate your guarantee.
Only fill with salt just before starting one of the complete washing programs to ensure any spilt salt does not
lie on the base of the appliance for an extended time as this can cause corrosion. The use of dishwasher
salt in the water softener eliminates the calcium deposits (limescale) that will form when used in hard water
areas.
Filling the Salt Container

• Remove the lower basket and then unscrew
and remove the cap from the salt container (see
picture 1).
• To ensure correct functioning of the water
softener, the container must be filled with 500ml
of water before the salt is added.
• Insert the salt funnel [06] into the container (see
picture 2) and add sufficient dishwasher salt until
it reaches the rim of the container. Ensure that
the container is not overfilled to avoid spillage of
salt onto the base of the appliance. It is normal
for some of the water to be displaced from the
container during filling.
• Remove the funnel and replace the cap.
• The salt indicator light on the display panel will
usually go out after the first complete wash cycle
has primed the water softener system.
