MAINTENANCE
REPLACING THE DRIVE BELT
After prolonged use of this Drill Press, it is recommended to inspect the
condition of the drive belt (A) Fig.23 for signs of stretching or damage. If
the drive belt needed to be replaced:
1) With the drill press connected to a power source, turn Drill Press ON, and
adjust the spindle speed to the maximum speed. Stop Drill Press, and
disconnect power cord from power source.
WARNING!
For your own safety, turn the switch “OFF” and unplug the
power cord from the power source before attempting to remove/replace
the drive belt.
2) Remove the small pan head screw which secures the pulley cover. Open
the pulley cover as shown in Fig.23.
3) Lift an edge of the drive belt and force it off the motor pulley (C) by turning the motor pulley. Remove drive belt.
4) Position the new drive belt around the spindle pulley (B) and then around the motor pulley (C), turn motor pulley to assist you in installing the
drive belt onto the motor pulley.
GENERAL MAINTENANCE
WARNING!
For your own safety, turn the switch “OFF” and remove the plug from the power source before maintaining or lubricating your drill
press.
• Keep the Drill Press clean and free of dust and debris. Painted surfaces can be wiped with a damp rag.
• Periodically lubricate all sliding or moving parts including the column, rack and the quill (use any all purpose grease, available at any hardware
store).
• Bearings in the quill and the pulleys are sealed and permanently lubricated – no further lubrication is required.
•
Frequently blow out any dust that may accumulate inside the motor. After operation, remove chips or dirt on the machine and apply a coat of
furniture-type paste wax to the table and the column, this will help keep the surfaces clean and free of rust.
