FIRMWARE
Safety Guard Firmware- Required Upload
Note:
The Voyager DVR Drill Press (model 58006) does NOT come with the necessary
firmware to operate this Safety Guard with Limit Switch. The firmware version of the HMI
can be upgraded via USB cable accessory (included with the Voyager DVR Drill Press)
and a PC computer with internet access. Follow these basic instructions for uploading
required firmware.
1) Go to www.teknatool.com web site.
2) Click on “Support” tab (1), then click on “Upgrade Your DVR Firmware” tab (2) as shown
below.
3) In order to upload new Firmware, an Uploader Software must be downloaded first.
Download software (3), uncompress folder and install software.
4) Download the required firmware for the Voyager DVR called EU - R2P05x CG - 2018-
05-02 (4). Once downloaded, uncompress folder to access Firmware file.
5) Connect the USB cable (included with the Voyager DVR Drill Press) from your com-
puter to the plug found
under the control panel.
6) Launch Uploader
Software. Press F1 then
ON buttons on control
panel to establish
communication. LCD
will indicate “SJM
Device in DFU Mode”.
7) From the menu, click on
“choose” and select the
Firmware file you
uncompressed earlier.
8) Click “upgrade”. The
firmware upgrade will
begin loading, and you will be notified when the process has finished. Installation is
finished.
Firmware Test
At this point, it is important to make sure the firmware upgrade was successful by testing
the safety guard. Turn machine on, open the safety guard. The machine must stop and
the LCD screen will indicate “Safety Guard Open”. The drill press will not be able to start
again until the safety guard is completely closed.
