Unpacking
WARNING
: For your own safety, never connect the single drum sander to a power source until all assembly steps are complete, and you have
read and understood safety, adjustments and operational instructions.
To ensure maximum performance from your King Canada single drum sander, clean it properly; and install it accurately before use. As soon
as you receive the sander, remove the contents from the shipping crate and report damage, if any to your local distributor. You will find a small
carton, inside are the machines adjustment tools and parts that need to be assembled.
Transportation
This machine must be lifted off the crate base and positioned in the required work area, this should be done using a forklift or a lifting hook.
Make sure the equipment used for to lift the sander (425 lb) is of adequate capacity.
1-Conveyor belt height crank handle.
Turn this crank handle
clockwise to raise the conveyor belt and counterclockwise to lower it.
2-Conveyor belt thickness scale and indicator.
Indicate the distance
which the conveyor belt is from the sanding drum.
3-Conveyor belt.
Feeds the workpiece under the sanding drum.
4-Conveyor belt tension adjustment bolt.
Found on both sides of the
conveyor belt, these bolt tension the conveyor belt when needed.
5-Conveyor belt motor.
6-Magnetic switch “Emergency Stop Button”.
Turns the sanding
drum motor off.
7-Magnetic switch “On Button”.
Turns the sanding drum motor on.
8-Conveyor belt “On/Off” switch.
Turn the conveyor motor on. This
swicth comes with a safety key which can be removed to prevent
unauthorized use.
9-Conveyor belt variable speed feed dial.
Controls the rate of feed
of the conveyor belt (3-20 S.F.P.M.).
10-2 x 4” Dust chutes.
It is necessary to always use this machine with
an appropriate dust collection system connected to these dust
chutes.
11-Sanding drum cover.
Can be opened by undoing the 2 front
mounted latches.
12-5” Sanding drum.
13-Pressure bars.
Front and rear pressure bars help to hold the
workpiece on the conveyor belt during operations.
14-Sanding drum pulley and drive V-Belt.
