OPERATION
SHARPENING kNIVES
WARNING!
Before installing the knife & scissors guide attachment on the sharpener base,
make sure the sharpener is unplugged and the on/off switch is in ‘’O’’ position.
Note:
This guide attachment is only suitable for straight edged household knives and
scissors only. Do not attempt to sharpen serrated edged blades.
1) Slide the knife & scissors guide attachment (A)
Fig.5 into the slots on the side facing the diamond
wheel. Make sure to push it all the way down until
it clamps into place.
2) Turn the sharpener On (switch in the “I” position).
3) Hold the knife handle towards you and insert the
blade into the knife sharpening slot #1 (B).
4) As soon as the blade touches the diamond wheel,
draw it with light steady pressure across the
wheel to the tip, then remove. Do not press hard.
5) Turn the blade over and insert it into the knife
sharpening slot #2 (C) and repeat.
6) Repeat sharpening each side in turn until a clean sharp edge is attained.
7) Turn the sharpener Off (switch in the “O” position). Before removing the knife &
scissors guide attachment, make sure the diamond wheel has completely stopped.
SHARPENING SCISSORS
1) Slide the knife & scissors guide attachment (A)
Fig.6 into the slots on the side facing the diamond
wheel. Make sure to push it all the way down until
it clamps into place.
2) Turn the sharpener On (switch in the “I” position).
3) Open the scissors fully.
4) Slide the first scissor blade through the scissor
sharpening slot (B).
5) Draw the blade across the diamond wheel from
pivot to tip. Use a light steady pressure, do not
press too hard.
6) Remove and turn scissors over to sharpen the
second blade.
7) Repeat if necessary, until clean sharp edges are achieved.
8) Turn the sharpener Off (switch in the “O” position). Before removing the knife &
scissors guide attachment, make sure the diamond wheel has completely stopped.

SHARPENING CHISELS & PLANE bLADES
WARNING!
Before installing the chisel & plane blade guide attachment on the
sharpener base, make sure the sharpener is unplugged and the on/off switch is in ‘’O’’
position.
1) Slide the chisel & plane blade guide attachment
(A) Fig.7 into the slots on the side facing the
diamond wheel. Make sure to push it all the way
down until it clamps into place.
2) Place the blade/chisel against the tool rest (B).
The magnets (C) help to hold it in place.
3) The sharpening angle must match the existing
bevel angle on the blade tip. Therefore the tool
rest angle must be adjusted. Loosen lock knob
(D) and adjust the angle of the tool rest (B). The
adjustable angle is from 15° to 50°. Make sure
the blade or chisel edge touches the diamond
wheel. Tighten lock knob (D).
4) Turn the sharpener On (switch in the “I” position).
5) Slide the blade/chisel and tool rest with light steady pressure back and forth across the
diamond wheel in a continuous motion. Do not hold the blade/chisel stationary. This
causes irregular sharpening.
6) Gradually adjust the blade/chisel down the tool rest while sharpening. Do not press
hard. Grind gradually, repeating the step.
7) Remove the blade and make sure the beveled edge and tip are evenly sharp. If not,
adjust the tool rest angle. It is important that the sharpening angle matches the existing
beveled angle of the blade. This avoids removing too much metal unnecessarily and
keeps plane blades at their optimum shaving angle.
8) When sharpening thin chisel blades, place the small chisel guide (E) onto the tool rest
to act as a spacer and sharpen.
9) Turn the sharpener Off (switch in the “O” position). Before removing the chisel & plane
blade guide attachment, make sure the diamond wheel has completely stopped.
10) It is recommended to hone the blade tip on an oil stone after sharpening.
Maintenance
The tool should be inspected and maintained frequently. Check and make sure the power
cord, plug and switch are in good condition. Check the diamond wheel also.
Do not allow brake fluid, gasoline, petroleum-based products such as penetrating oils to
come in contact with plastic parts. They contain chemicals which can damage, weaken or
destroy the motor housing. Service should be done by a qualified service technician using
identical replacement parts.
