Assembly Instructions

IMPORTANT! KEEP FOR FUTURE REFERENCE:

READ CAREFULLY.

This Kinder Valley cot bed conforms to BS EN716:2008+A1:2013 and the child’s bed conforms to

BS 8509:2008+A1:2011.

This Kinder Valley cot bed is suitable from birth. In cot mode there are 3 mattress base positions. The lowest

position is the safest and should always be used as soon as the baby is able to sit up.

When the cot bed is converted into bed mode, the minimum age should not be less than 18 months and no

more than 4 years old.

To prevent injury from falls, when the child is able to climb out of the cot, the cot should be converted into a 

bed.

Thickness of the mattress shall be such that the internal height (surface of the mattress to the upper edge of

the cot frame) is at least 500 mm in the lowest position of the cot base and at least 200 mm in the highest

position of the cot base.

WARNING: Be aware of the risk of open fire and other sources of strong heat, such as electric bar fires, 

gas fires, etc. in the near vicinity of the cot.

WARNING: Do not use this cot bed if any part is broken, torn or missing and use only spare parts 

approved by Kinder Valley.

WARNING: Do not use more than one mattress.

WARNING: All assembly 

fittings should be checked regularly and retightened as necessary

. Loose fittings can 

result in snagging clothes or cords posing a risk of strangulation.

Warning: Do not leave anything in the cot or place the cot close to another product, which could provide a 

foothold or present a danger of suffocation or strangulation, e.g. strings, blind/curtain cords etc.

Assembly fittings should always be tightened properly and care should always be taken that no screws are

loose to ensure your child does not trap parts of the body or clothing.  Do not over tighten.

We recommend you use any Kinder Valley mattress size 140cm x 70cm. The length and width shall be such 

that the gap between the mattress and the sides and ends does not exceed 30 mm.

Use only on firm ground which is on a horizontal level and dry.

This cot bed is designed to be dismantled and packed flat for storage or transportation.

 Children are likely to play, bounce, jump and climb on beds, therefore the child’s bed should not be placed

 too close to other furniture or windows, blind cords, curtain pulls or other strings or cords and should be 

placed either tight to any wall or have a gap of 30cm between the wall and the side of the bed. 

 

In order to clean, use only a mild detergent and warm water.  Do not bleach or use any abrasive substances.
