EN: User Guide
Description
The PG700N Device Programmer Unit has the following
capabilities:
•
To assign or modify the address for the KL700A series
addressable detectors
•
To calibrate the replacement optical chamber for the
KL731A Addressable Optical Smoke Detectors
•
To calibrate the KL731 and KL731B conventional optical
detectors
The range of addresses is from 1 through 125. Models are
shown in Table 1 below.

Operation
Button functionality of the device is described in Table 2.
Table 2: Button functionality
Button
Function
Power on/off. Press and hold the button for three seconds
to switch the unit on or off. The unit switches off
automatically after two minutes if no button is pressed.
Back button. Press to return to the previous program mode
option. (E.G. after reviewing the diagnostic information
press this button to return to program mode P6.)
Up button. Press to select the previous program option e.g.
from option P5 to option P4.
Down button. Press to select the next program option e.g.
from option P5 to option P6.
Enter button. Press to confirm the selected program option.
This button is also used to select the submenu of the
program mode.
There are six program mode options from P1 to P6, including a
setup option, descibed in Table 3.

P1
Auto address and calibrate. Automatically assigns the
allocated address to the mounted detector (refer to the
screen text for P1 in Table 4). When a detector is
removed, the unit automatically changes to the next
address. This program also calibrates.
P2
Assign a new address and calibrate. Enter the new
address and calibrate the detector.
P3
Auto address. When a detector is removed the unit
automatically changes to the next address. Use the Enter
button to program a new detector.
P4
Assign a new address. Enter the new address.
P5
Calibrate. Calibrate the detector without altering its
address.
P6
Diagnostics. View the detector readings. Descriptions are
given below.
P7
KL731 calibration. Select to calibrate. Refer to Table 4,
page 2 for instructions.
Setup
Additional features include:
•
Backlight option when working in dark areas
•
Cursor options (block or underscore)
•
Menu options (circular or non-circular)
•
Battery voltage indicator
•
Firmware version
•
LED test (shows the detector’s LED functionality)
