Start Up & Operation
Select the proper turbine/gearbox v-belt pulley and gearbox range combination. Caution! Always
make sure the Turbine is stopped before making any changes to the turbine and gearbox pulley
settings.
Turbine Speed Settings:
Refer to the speed range chart for correct selection by utilizing the following steps:
1. Select the proper speed range from the “Turbine Drive Speed Range” chart.
2. Verifty the turbine is stopped & select the desired turbine and gearbox pulley setting based on desired
speed of retraction (ft/hr).
Caution! Never attempt to change pulley settings when the gearbox is under load. Serious damage
could occur to the gearbox. See page 12 for instructions on how
to remove the load so that gearbox setting changes can be
made.

Changing Pulley Settings:
If you need to change the pulley settings, make certain the turbine is
stopped and perform the following steps:
1. Loosen the bolt holding the gearbox in place (See Photo 1 below).
2. Move the gearbox by pushing it forward as shown in Photo 2. This
will take tension off the belt and allow you to make the appropriate
pulley change.
3. Once the belt is on the correct pulley setting, pull the gearbox back
into position and tighten the bolt.
