MULTIMEDIA USB PORT, POWER OUTLETS, AND USB CHARGER PORTS
Power Outlets
A
:
Use the power outlets for mobile phones and other devices designed to
operate on a 12V (180W max.) power outlet.
Multimedia USB Port
B
:
Use Multimedia USB port to connect USB audio devices and
smartphones.
USB Charger Port
C
:
Devices can be recharged using a USB cable. The Engine Start/Stop
button needs to be in the ACC/ON/START position to operate the USB Charger Port.
Note:
Devices will only charge while the vehicle is in ACC/ON/Start position.
If you encounter difficulty plugging in a compatible USB device, change the orientation of the device (may be upside down).
Always use the USB charging cable that has been certified by the device manufacturer. Use of aftermarket cables is NOT
recommended as they may impact functionality.
IDLE, STOP & GO (ISG) SYSTEM*
The ISG system is designed to help reduce fuel consumption by automatically shutting
down the engine when the vehicle is at a standstill.
When the ISG system is ON and the vehicle is at a standstill, the engine will stop, and the
AUTO STOP indicator
on the instrument cluster will illuminate green.
When the ISG system is ON and the vehicle is at a standstill, the engine may not stop
and the AUTO STOP indicator
on the instrument cluster will illuminate YELLOW.
This indicates the system is functional but not all enabling criteria have been met.
The engine will restart when the brake pedal is released or the shift lever is moved from
D (Drive) to the R (Reverse) position or to Manual Shift mode. When engine restarts, the
green AUTO STOP indicator on the instrument cluster will turn OFF.
To deactivate the ISG System, press the ISG OFF button
A
. If you press again, the system
will be activated. Please see the Owner’s Manual for details.
If the amber warning lamp is ON, the system is functional, but not all enabling criteria has
been met.
If the AUTO STOP indicator is continuously blinking yellow and the ISG button LED is ON,
please contact an authorized Kia dealer.
REMOTE START WITH KEY FOB*
You can start the vehicle using the remote start button
A
on the smart key.
To start the vehicle remotely:
• Lock the doors by pressing the door lock button within 32 feet (10 meters) distance
from the vehicle.
• Press the remote start button for over 2 seconds within 4 seconds after locking
the doors.
Press the remote start button once to turn off the vehicle.
If no further action for operation/driving the vehicle is taken, the vehicle will be turned
off 10 minutes after starting the vehicle remotely.
LANE FOLLOWING ASSIST (LFA) SYSTEM*
5
The LFA system helps detect lane markers on the road with a front view camera at the
front windshield, and assists in maintaining the vehicle between lanes.
LFA Operation
When the ENGINE START/STOP button is in the ON or START position, Lane Following
Assist can be activated by pressing the button on the steering wheel.
Operating Conditions
When the system is activated, the indicator on the cluster will illuminate. The color of
the indicator will change depending on the condition of the LFA system.
• Green: The system is in the enabled state.
• White: The system is in the ready state.
LFA Activation
After LFA is activated, if the vehicle is within the lane and both lane markers are detected (lane color changes grey to white)
and there is no abrupt steering by the driver, indicator light will change from white to green. This indicates that the LFA
System is in the ENABLED state and the steering wheel will be able to be controlled.
• The indicator light changes from green to white when the control is temporarily canceled.
• When the system does not recognize the lane, or depending on the vehicle condition in front (presence of the vehicle,
driving status, etc.), the steering wheel is controlled restrictively. When the control of the steering wheel is stopped
temporarily, the activation indicator blinks in green and then changes to white.
Steering Assist
If the vehicle is inside the lane with both lanes detected by LFA, and there are not abrupt steering inputs made by the
driver, LFA changes into steering assist mode. The indicator light will come on green, and LFA helps the vehicle stay in line
by providing steering inputs. When steering inputs are not being provided, the indicator light will flash green and change to
white. Once LFA recognizes the lanes, the color of the lane on the screen will change from grey to white.
Warning Message
If you keep your hands off the wheel while driving with LFA in Steering Assist mode, the hands-off warning will be
triggered. If the driver keeps their hands off of the wheel even with the hands-off warning on, the steering assist is
temporarily deactivated automatically. If you activate the Smart Cruise Control* system with LFA released, the steering
assist will re-start.
LFA Malfunction
In the event of an LFA malfunction, you will receive this message in your instrument cluster: “Check Lane Following Assist
(LFA) system.” If you see this warning, please have your vehicle checked by an authorized Kia dealership. The LFA malfunction
message can also appear during adverse road conditions such as rain, puddles, snow, dust, sand, etc.
Warnings:
• The LFA system is designed to help the vehicle stay in its detected lane. It is a supplemental system only and is not
a substitute for safe driving. Never rely solely on your LFA system.
• It is the driver’s responsibility to operate the steering wheel while driving.
• Do not turn the steering wheel hastily if the LFA system is activated.
DUAL-CLUTCH TRANSMISSION (DCT)*
Some Seltos vehicles are equipped with a DCT. The DCT gives the driving feel of a manual transmission, yet provides the
ease of a fully automatic transmission.
The following are unique driving tips of the Dual-Clutch Transmission:
To hold the vehicle stationary on an incline, the service brake or parking brake MUST be used or the gear shift MUST be
placed in the (P) Park position. If the vehicle is held stationary by applying the accelerator pedal, the transmission may
overheat, resulting in damage.
Avoid aggressive launches on steep grades as this may overheat the clutches.
A slight time lag may be experienced at takeoff from a standstill during aggressive acceleration.
If the clutches are overheating, an amber warning lamp
will be illuminated and a message displayed on the instrument
cluster. Should this occur, safely pull over and place the vehicle in Park (P) and idle the engine.
