Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist (FCA) (sensor

fusion)

sees an obstacle and has the ability 
to apply the brakes.

䳜 FCA system automatically acti

-

vates upon placing the POWER 
button to the ON position. The 
driver can deactivate FCA system 
by canceling the system setting 
on the LCD display.

䳜 FCA system automatically deacti

-

vates upon canceling the ESC. 
When the ESC is canceled, FCA 
system cannot be activated on 
the LCD display. FCA system 
warning light will illuminate.

䳜 To avoid driver distractions, do 

not attempt to set or cancel FCA 
system while operating the vehi

-

cle.

FCA warning message and brake 
control

FCA system produces warning mes

-

sages, warning alarms, and emer

-

gency braking based on the level of 
risk of a frontal collision, such as 
when a vehicle ahead suddenly 
brakes, or when the system detects 
that a collision with a pedestrian, 
cyclist or a vehicle is imminent.

The driver can select the initial 
warning activation time in the User 
Settings in the LCD display. The 
options for the initial Forward Colli

-

sion Warning include Early, Normal 
or Late initial warning time.
