Transfer lever operation

Shift the transfer lever from the 2H
mode to 4H mode (or from the 4H
mode to 2H mode) at speed below
60 km/h (37 mph).
It is not necessary to depress the
clutch pedal.

1. Stop the vehicle.
2. Depress the clutch pedal fully and
shift the transfer lever.
For safe four-wheel drive
operation
• Your vehicle allows you to drive in
on road and off-road conditions.
• However, do not try to drive in deep
standing water or mud, or over
steep hills.
• When you are driving up or down
hills, drive as close to straight up
and down the hills as possible. Use
extreme caution in going up or
down steep hills, since you can flip
your vehicle over depending on the
grade, terrain and water/mud con-
ditions.
CAUTION
In extremely cold weather
(below -15°C, or in case of the
cold engine), when shifting the
transfer lever from the 2H mode
to 4H mode be sure to stop your
vehicle or shift the transfer lever
at low speed while driving.
CAUTION
• If the vehicle moves while the
transfer shift is in process, the
gearbox may be damaged.
• Do not over speed (above
40 km/h) in the 4L position.
This may cause severe trans-
fer damage.
