NOTICE

• The TPMS malfunction indicator

may be illuminated if the vehicle is

moving around electric power

supply cable or radio transmitter

such as police stations, govern-

ment and public offices, broad-

casting stations, military installa-

tions, airports, or transmitting

tower, etc. this can interfere with

normal operation of the Tyre

Pressure Monitoring System

(TPMS). 

• The TPMS malfunction indicator

may be illuminated if some elec-

tronic devices, such as notebook

computers, are used in the vehicle.

This can interfere with normal

operation of the Tyre Pressure

Monitoring System (TPMS).

Changing a tyre with TPMS

If you have a flat tyre, the low tyre
pressure and position telltales will
come on. Have the flat tyre repaired
by an authorised Kia dealer as soon
as possible or replace the flat tyre
with the spare tyre.
NEVER use a puncture-repairing
agent to repair and/or inflate a low
pressure tyre. If used, you will have
to replace the tyre pressure sensor.
Each wheel is equipped with a tyre
pressure sensor mounted inside the
tyre behind the valve stem. You must
use TPMS specific wheels. It is rec-
ommended that you always have
your tyres serviced by an authorised
Kia dealer as soon as possible.
The spare tyre is not equipped with a
tyre pressure monitoring sensor.
Therefore, when the low pressure
tyre is replaced with the spare tyre,
the low tyre pressure and the low
tyre pressure position telltales will
extinguish and the TPMS malfunc-
tion indicator will illuminate after a
few minutes.

This TPMS malfunction indicator
may remain light until the original
tyre equipped with a tyre pressure
sensor is re-inflated to the recom-
mended pressure and re-installed on
the vehicle.
Once the low pressure tyre is re-
inflated to the recommended pres-
sure and installed on the vehicle, the
TPMS malfunction indicator and the
low tyre pressure and position tell-
tales will extinguish within a few min-
utes.
If the indicators are not extinguished
after a few minutes, please visit an
authorised Kia dealer.
You may not be able to identify a low
tyre by simply looking at it. Always
use a good quality tyre pressure
gauge to measure the tyre's inflation
pressure. Please note that a tyre that
is hot (from being driven) will have a
higher pressure measurement than a
tyre that is cold (from sitting station-
ary for at least 3 hours and driven
less than 1 mile (1.6km) during that 3
hour period). Allow the tyre to cool
before measuring the inflation pres-
sure.
