Keysight X8712A IoT Device Battery Life Optimization Solution User’s Guide

X8712A Channel Function

Depending on your choice of modules installed in the N6705C, you will need to

install them according to the supported channels below. You can configure the

N6705C unit of the X8712A solution based on the settings below.

Channel

Settings

Channel 1

Fixed as Battery Emulator
Function: Act as battery of the DUT and measure the total current

drain of the DUT.

Channel 2

Fixed as Power Detector
Function: Monitor RF events and capture the power envelope of the

RF signals transmitted or received by the DUT, for RF event current

consumption analysis.
Connect the X8712AD RF event detector to Channel 2

Channel 3 and 4

Select one of these settings

(VM, AM or 2-QPS) for DC

events correlation. Channel 3

and 4 can be set to different

functions according to your

measurement needs.

Voltage meter (VM)
Function: Measure voltage.

Current meter (AM)
Function: Measure current.

DC Power Supply (2-QPS)
Function: Force voltage to measure current.
