Keysight 8990B Installation Guide

Safety Considerations

Read the information below before using this instrument. 
The following general safety precautions must be observed during all phases of 

operation, service, and repair of this instrument. Failure to comply with these 

precautions or with specific warnings elsewhere in this manual violates safety 

standards for design, manufacture, and intended use of the instrument. Keysight 

Technologies assumes no liability for the customer’s failure to comply with these 

requirements.

WARNING

– An appliance coupler (main input power cord) is a power disconnect 

device. Do not position the 8990B such that access to the coupler is 
impaired.

– No operator serviceable parts inside. Refer servicing to qualified 

personnel. To prevent electric shock, do not remove the 8990B covers.

– If the 8990B is not used as specified, the built-in safety protection 

features could be impaired. The 8990B must be used in normal 
conditions only (in which all means of protection are intact).
