Current Programming and Measurement Calibration

Step 1. Disconnect all equipment form the output terminals.

Step 2. Select the current programing and measurement calibration.

Front Panel Menu Reference

SCPI Command

Select

System\Admin\Cal\Curr\Iprog

.

Check that nothing is connected to the output and select
Next.

Specify the full-scale current range. Full scale
ranges vary by model. This selects the 30 A range:

CAL:CURR 30

Step 3. Wait 5 minutes for the temperature to settle. Then select the first current calibration point.

Wait 5 minutes, then select Next again.

Step 4. Connect a precision shunt resistor to the output. The shunt resistor should be able to measure
at least 70% of the output’s full-scale current (see

Cal Setup B

). Connect the Keysight 3458A DMM

across the shunt resistor.

Not applicable

Step 5. Select the second current calibration point. Wait 5 minutes for the temperature to settle.
Calculate the shunt current (I=V/R) and enter the data.

the external DMM. This should be about 70% of the full-scale
current rating. Press Enter when done. Press Back to finish.
