Cabling with COGE5 Redundancy
When using a redundant core unit in slot 13, cabling is different. Since the
core unit HW is duplicated, some of the front connections have to be dupli-
cated as well. The cables that have to be connected twice are the following:
• Ethernet cable to the local management port
The Ethernet cables to the two COGE5 units can be connected e.g. via
an Ethernet switch to the local manager. Note that the two management
ports of the two COGE5 units have default IP addresses:
− COGE5 unit in slot 11: 192.168.1.1.
− Redundant COGE5 unit in slot 13: 192.168.1.2.
The Ethernet local management port on the standby core unit is disabled.
