Unpacking
Carefully remove the balance from its packaging, remove the
plastic wrapping and position the balance in its intended
working location.

5.3 Battery
operation

change
Push the lid of the battery housing in the direction indicated.
Insert two #7(AAA) batteries in the polarity shown. The
power source is then connected. After a brief self –test,
lasting for 1 to 2 seconds, the operation is in clock mode
and starts registering time. Close the lid.

Switch to Clock Mode:

key once. The minute figure blinks. Press the

to return to normal clock mode. If the

after setting, the display will return to normal clock mode
automatically after a few seconds.
6.2 Scale
Mode
Under the clock mode, press the
Scale
key once. The display
will switch to scale mode.
Weighing
Press the TARE
key once. The display registers zero. Hook
the object being weighed. The steady reading is the weight of
the object.
Net weight
Hook the container. Press the
TARE
key to zero the display.
Put the object inside the container. The reading is the net
weight of the object.
Memory
The product has the feature to retain reading. When the
reading (over 0.05 kg) reaches a steady state the memory is
activated. the symbol “
_
” for seeing the reading easily is
displayed and the buzzer sounds. Now the load could be
released. This is very helpful in weighing heavy objects.
When the weight varies the reading also varies. When the load
is released the reading indicates the last steady weight. After
seven seconds the display disappears.
6.3 Measuring
Temperature
When under the scale mode press Temp button once the
ambient temperature is displayed. Pressing the button again
returns the operation to scale mode. Please note. the
thermometer works only under steady state. When the
temperature varies it takes time to reach a steady state before
accurately displaying the ambient temperature.

Maintenance, upkeep, disposal
7.1 Cleaning
Only use a cloth dampened with mild suds and not aggressive
cleaning agents (solvents or similar). Please ensure that fluids
are not able to get into the device and rub off using a clean,
soft cloth. Loose sample residue/powder can be removed
carefully using a brush or hand vacuum cleaner.
7.2 Maintenance,
upkeep
The device may only be opened by trained service engineers
authorised by KERN.
7.3 Disposal
The operating company shall dispose of the packaging and the
device in compliance with the valid national or regional law of
the operating location.
8 Troubleshooting
The balance should be switched off for a short time following
an interruption in the programme sequence and disconnected
from the mains supply. It is then necessary to repeat the
weighing process from the beginning.
