Relative
Reference C o n t r o l ]
The R E L A T I V E R E F control is kept a t " C A L " in
general cases of reading c a l i b r a t e d , absolute values on
the Meter. T o measure relative levels such a s fre-
quency responses, t u r n the control f o r uncalibration
s t a t e ( U N C A L ) until the reference level is set to a
desired value, f o r example, OdBm. T h i s a l l o w s reading
the relative levels.
[How to Use Remote Control]
The R T - 6 1 option, one of the features of the V T - 1 7 3 ,
provides the V T - 1 7 3 w i t h remote control c a p a b i l i t y .
T o a t t a c h the R T - 6 1 , remove the blind plate f r o m
the rear panel of the V T - 1 7 3 , install the connector
supplied w i t h the R T - 6 1 , then plug the R T - 6 1 into
the connector on the P C B (voltmeter u n i t ) .

T h e n , set the M O D E selector switch on the remote
control box to R E M O T E position. B y t h i s , the
measurement ranges of the V T - 1 7 3 can be remote-
controlled w i t h the R A N G E selector on the remote
control box. B y setting the M O D E selector on the
remote control box to P A N E L , the V T - 1 7 3 c a n be
operated on the panel.

Note: T o use the V T - 1 7 3 in the Remote mode, be
sure to set the M O D E selector on the panel
to A U T O position.
[How to Use A C O U T P U T and DC O U T P U T Connectors]
The A C O U T P U T connector outputs 1 V r m s A C
voltage when the meter reads the f u l l scale,
regardless of the measurement range.
Output impedance is 6 0 0 O .
L i k e w i s e , the D C O U T P U T connector outputs approx.
1V D C voltage when the meter reads the f u l l scale,
regardless of the measurement range.
Output impedance is 6 0 0 O .
